MERALY: THE BLESSED MANGYAN

MERALY, is a blessed Mangyan kid! Yes, she is! Seeing her recovered fast in her surgery is really amazing! It's truly a blessing from the Lord. Not just that, but more blessings in terms of clothing, toys, shoes, food, and others keep coming in. She's a rich Mangyan kid now! Rich in love, hugs,kisses,toys,food, and tours to USA . I praise God for what she's doing in the life of this poor kid.
The surgery last October 1, Monday was a successful one. God truly used the doctor mightily for Meraly's complete healing. Meraly was advised by her surgeon, Dr. Khan, to walk just two days after the surgery. And she did. During her recuperation at P.I.C.U., she just had itchy body caused by the anaesthesia and uncomfortable feelings because of the many tubes attached to her body for few days. She just felt the pain in her cut chest for few days also. After all these, she's already well. She can walk thru a long distance now without squatting and her lips, skin, finger and toenails are all in pink color. She looks much better than before. She said: " Gusto ko ng lumaki at tumaba. ( I want to grow tall and gain more weight.) I always tell her to be grateful to God and the instruments He used for her healing. She does her devotion twice a day, singing praise to God and praying for her loved ones, Tekno and you.
The doctor gave us permission to travel to California and other places to visit our friends and mission partners. We will be going to Florida also for rest and retreat. Pls. pray for God's provision , guidance and safety for all our travels. Below is our itinerary:
October 19-27 - “ RETREAT AT ANA MARIA ISLAND, FLORIDA
( God provided free housing,sponsored by Beside Still Waters Ministries for tired missionaries)
October 29-Nov. 8 - VALLEJO, CA
November 9-21 - SAN DIEGO,WALNUT,LA PUENTE,CANYON LAKE, CA
November 22-28 - SEATTLE, WA (Lynnwood and Oka Harbor, Wa)
Nov.29-Dec.18 - VALLEJO,CA
Dec. 19 - NEW JERSEY for holidays
January 2008 - BACK TO PHILIPPINES ( no date yet)

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR MERALY

1. Complete recovery and healing, no complications in the future..
2. That she will not undergo another surgery anymore after ten years, because the doctor said she might need it again.
3. Continuous provision of her needs since she will always stay at Tekno Center till she grows up.
4. Her Christlike character be developed, so pls. pray for us Tekno Workers as we mold her and disciple her.
5. That she will always be a blessing also to others¦
6. And that she could visit Disneyland, Sea World and others.

Herma's Report
(God's servant in training for mission work)

It's been a while since Cris left for USA to accompanied Meraly for her open heart surgery. To oversee a big ministry is a big task me...meaning a guardian for 55 kids and at the same doing some paper work roll into one and it's only by God's grace that I've been able to do things at the same time.
I'm not use to it but I have to. It's hard to discipline the kids especially because they are minority. I have to take a lot of courage, patience and be firm with my decision making and be tough with them. I'm so strict in dealing with them¦ tough love so to speak is what I give them¦ one discipline that I implemented was that they will go on fasting for three days for not following rules. There are times, I was sick and tired with them coz it's a repetition.. I know they have low IQ and you have to bear that¦ we have encountered some problems with some kids this month. We dropped 3 kids because they're always absent ( 10 absences was only allowed) . I dropped one student not because of absences but for breaking the rules especiallyhaving vices like smoking, chewing bettle nut and reading pornographic material. This kid is Rodel ,earlier before disqualifying him, he was grounded by John for one month but then he still smoke , he went home without John's knowledge and left his classroom without asking permission to his teacher. I explained to him that he was grounded and the only place that he will allow to go was his school , the boys house and Tekno center. And I asked him to stop smoking and chewing bettle nut, he said yes to me but he was really hard headed. I gave him ultimatum, I made him to choose as his last chance¦and he chose to keep doing his vices. This made me more sick and stressed out.
I thanked God also for Beth's presence. I really want a female co-worker/companion here whenever Cris is not here, at least we can have girl talk and balance life. Whenever I got mad with the kids coz' she has a soft heart especially with kids and by nature she's kind and have long patience with the kids, the kids really liked her a lot¦ sometimes I developed ill feelings towards them because of their bad attitude I really don't like them, sorry for that term ( I really asked God to change my attitude towards them deep in my heart I discriminate them.) because they have the tendency to be abusive. I still having some thought if I can go on with these kind of life I had in Tekno. I really missed my cell group, my ministry in Manila , attending bible study and of course my family and I'm having second thought of not staying here anymore but I don't want emotion rules in my life and be disobedient with what God wants me to do for Him. However, He makes me realized that I will not journey alone. His presence will go with me, He said in Isaiah 41: 13 "For I . the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you;Fear not for I am with you" ; He will always remind me that I'm not alone , it's very tiring and emotionally draining but God always refreshed my heart and He changed my attitude towards them.

Note: Pls. pray for Herma to enjoy and endure serving God and Tekno Kids in my absence. She truly needs a lot of prayers.

PRAISE GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYERS

1. For Meraly's surgery done after more than two years of praying
2. The church in Mangyan Community was completed this month of October
3. The Tekno Car was repaired already and tires were replaced, Praise God for His provision
4. The Spring box in Mangyan Community was repaired and ready for use again by the Mangyans

PLS. PRAY FOR THE FOLLOWING NEEDS

1. The Tekno kids protection from the attacks of the evil one
2. The Tekno teenage boys and girls pure life and growth in Christlikeness
3. Wisdom for Tekno Workers-Herma, Beth and John, and also protection also for them as they work as a team.
4. Cris' good health
5. More churches and other people to support Tekno Mission
6. Completion of our building, we need to still do the following building works:
- Fencing
- Two more toilet and bathroom at the back of the building
- Two rooms for rooftop ( need ceiling, wall, windows, doors.)
- Painting of the whole building, inside and outside
- Double decks bed for kids rooms
- Cabinets/dresser for kids
7. Bethel Mangyan Community needs:
- toilets
- church walls, windows, door
- parsonage
- more water pumps
